The big question of the day is "Did you watch the royal wedding"? I did! i couldn't help myself. I really wanted to see the dress, the hats and of course I love weddings! Of course Kate was radiant.
Talk about well behaved children. Having children in a wedding can be tricky to say the least. You never know what they will do or say. The children that were in the royal wedding today did a really great job. No problems.
So what about the hats? I also noticed how composed Kate was. Did you see them all? So why do British women wear hats to wedding?
"Hats have long denoted status," says Oriole Cullen, curator of a Victoria & Albert Museum 2009 hat exhibit that has since gone to Australia and heads to New York in September. "Up until the 1950s, a woman wasn't even considered properly dressed unless she was wearing a hat and gloves."
Throughout history the wearing of hats has been a status symbol, a fashion accessory and a protective covering.
Whatever the reason for wearing hats don't you just love looking at all the styles?

As Sarasota Wedding Photographer we have not seen the use of hats yet. Being a Boca Grande Wedding Photographer this tradition may catch on since so many weddings of Boca Grande are beach weddings.
